Bowling Machine Sponsorship

Background of Aliwal Cricket Academy:

In January 2017, the Aliwal Cricket Academy was established to fill the gap that currently exists for cricket and cricket coaching in Aliwal North. Currently cricket is played only in the 4th quarter in both the High and Primary Schools.

The Academy is hosted throughout the year, and this year our numbers were as follows (Aliwal North Primary School only):

1st quarter: 53
2nd Quarter: 49
3rd quarter: 51
4th Quarter: 55

Age groups focused on this year were from Grade 1 to Grade 7, and only "hardball" cricket was played, even with our Grade 1 and 2 players, who would otherwise play mini-cricket with a soft ball.

The Academy is also based on "focused" exercises, and groups are limited to a maximum of 12 players per exercise (although we prefer 8-10) with 2 coaches at each session. This means that there is effectively a maximum of 6 players per coach, so more individual attention can be given to players.

We also do our best to give the players the best equipment to play with, and we exclusively use MK Handcrafted in Cape Town as our supplier of high quality equipment.

 

The success of the Academy also resulted in both Zastron's Higher and Lower Schools joining us in the 3rd and 4th quarters with a player totalling 36 players.

We aim to offer the Academy at the Aliwal North High School in 2018 for Grade 8 - 10 players. There were also a lot of inquiries from the High School in 2017 to establish a girl’s team, and we therefore provide our training schedule for those groups.

Practice times:

The Academy also used a large part of our income to purchase a complete set of equipment for the Aliwal North Primary School's U/9 team, which started with hardball cricket this year.

We also made the Academy's Flicx cricket mat (worth R29 995.95) available to the school so that the school teams could get an opportunity to play matches that they would otherwise not be able to play.

PACEMAN PRO BOWLING MACHINE:

 

To bring the quality of our coaching to a higher level in 2018, we would like to buy a bowling machine. With the cost of such a piece of equipment, plus the cost of equipment we have to purchase in 2018, we would like to request the possibility of a sponsorship (either full or partial).

Any contribution to the purchase of such a bowling machine will be greatly appreciated and will greatly improve the quality of our coaching and the quality of the players we deliver forward.

This sponsorship will be accompanied by exposure of your business on our web site (www.aliwalcricket.co.za), newspaper articles, and advertisement boards on our nets, gear bags and forward on our training page as well as all our Facebook posts.
